Menchaca works hard to integrate social emotional learning in our daily lives. Teachers use the Second Step curriculum to teach students self management strategies. We are also actively implementing strategies from Responsive Classrooms, such as Morning Meeting, Academic Choice, Interactive Modeling, and Effective Teacher Langauge. Many classrooms engage in mindfulness strategies and yoga.
Additionally, Menchaca has incorported many strategies from Welcoming Schools to ensure we create an affirming community for all our LGBTQIA students, families and staff.
